The Family is of God

My father dearly loves his family and truly

understands the eternal nature and purpose of families. The majority of his retirement years were dedicated to serving in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg Temples where he sealed families for eternity.  Many of his grandchildren were privileged to have him perform their temple wedding.
He knows better than most what it means for a family to be linked together forever.

Over a year ago I compiled a video slideshow of vintage family photos for his birthday. Never was a gift more gratefully received.

So, on Fathers' Day I created a second video which he equally enjoyed. During our recent visit to Archer, Cleo asked if they could get another copy of the first DVD because he had literally worn it out.

The first and second videos focused on the past, so the request was sent out for snapshots of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to create a third edition. Over the last several weeks many family members have generously shared their family photographs to assemble in a legacy slideshow for my Dad. I would eager check my inbox each morning to see if new pictures had arrived. As I studied the faces in each photo, it became obvious what the theme of the video should be: "The Family is of God", a beautiful children's song composed by Clive Romney. The simple text of this delightful song perfectly describes what my Dad knows about families. Also included in the video is his great granddaughter singing the first portion of "The Family a Proclamation to the World".

The link below is to the first segment on the new DVD. Stay tuned for part two in another post. Part three contains a slideshow of nearly 400 photographs which I'm sure Dad will share it with you on your next visit.
