In his autobiography, my Great Uncle Creighton B. Hurst recalled learning about faith in the power of prayer:
"My grandparents were converts to the church and they
possessed great faith. They were very successful in teaching the gospel
principles to their family.
"One time when my father lay critically ill, and all
members of the family were very much disturbed as to his condition, Grandfather
came to the house and said, “You don’t need to be alarmed. Harris is going to
be all right.”
“Why are you so sure?” he was asked. He replied, “I have just
returned from the barn where I found his little children praying for his
recovery, and I know their prayers will be answered.”
